# How to Merge JPG Files Into One Horizontal (Landscape) PDF

> Combine several JPG photos into one PDF with landscape pages. Set the orientation once, apply it to every page, and download a single file.

To merge JPG files into one horizontal PDF, add them all to [JPG to PDF](/jpg-to-pdf/), open the page editor, set Orientation to **Landscape** and click **Apply to all pages** before you create the file. That way wide photos, slides and screenshots fill the page instead of sitting in a thin strip across a tall A4 sheet.

## Merge JPGs into a landscape PDF in your browser

[Open JPG to PDF](https://filevale.com/jpg-to-pdf/)

1. Open JPG to PDF and choose your JPG files. You can add several at once, put them in the order you want, and remove any with ✕.
2. A strip of page thumbnails appears under the file list. Tap one to open the page editor and set **Orientation** to **Landscape**. Pick a **Page size** (A4, Letter, Fit to image, Square or Custom in mm) while you are there.
3. Click **Apply to all pages** so every page gets the same horizontal layout.
4. Click **Create PDF from N files**, then download the PDF.

Everything happens on your device; the photos are not uploaded. The tool is free with no watermarks, and no sign-up is needed to download.

## Get the photo to fill the horizontal page

The page editor has a few more settings that decide how each image sits on a landscape page:

- **Placement**: Fit, Fill, Original size or Stretch. Fit is the default; try Fill if you want the photo to cover the page.
- **Margin**: None, Small or Medium. Choose None if you want the photo to reach the edges.
- **Background color**: the color shown around the image when it doesn't cover the whole page.
- **Zoom and drag**: frame the image by hand on a single page.

If your photos have mixed shapes, **Orientation: Auto** (the default) is worth a try, and **Page size: Fit to image** is another option to compare. If one page still looks wrong, change it alone and skip **Apply to all pages** for that one.

## Mixed formats: PNG, HEIC or screenshots too

If some files are PNG, WEBP, HEIC, GIF or BMP, use [Image to PDF](/image-to-pdf/) instead. It has the same page editor with the same Orientation, Page size and Placement options, so the landscape steps above work exactly the same. The guide on [putting all your images in one PDF](/guides/all-images-in-one-pdf/) covers mixed formats in more detail.

## Two images side by side on one sheet

Some people searching for a horizontal merge want two photos next to each other on a single page. The JPG and Image to PDF tools place one image per page; they don't arrange several images on one page. The closest option is to create your PDF first and then run it through [N-up PDF](/nup-pdf/), which prints 2 or 4 PDF pages on one sheet. If you only need to turn a page that came out sideways in an existing PDF, use [Rotate PDF](/rotate-pdf/).

## Built-in options on Windows and Mac

On **Windows**, select the photos in File Explorer, right-click and choose *Print*. Pick *Microsoft Print to PDF* as the printer, check the print options for a landscape setting, and print to a file.

On a **Mac**, open all the photos in **Preview**, choose *File → Print*, set the orientation to landscape, and use *Save as PDF* in the PDF menu at the bottom of the dialog.

Both work for a quick job, but you get fewer layout controls than the page editor gives you.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I make some pages horizontal and others vertical?

Yes. Open each page in the page editor and set its Orientation separately, or leave it on Auto. Only use **Apply to all pages** when you want every page to share the same settings.

### Will my JPGs be uploaded anywhere?

No. JPG to PDF runs entirely in your browser, so the photos never leave your device. That makes it safe for receipts, ID scans and other private images.

### How do I change the order of the pages?

Put the files in the order you want after choosing them, and remove any you don't need with ✕. Each image becomes one page in that order. To rearrange a PDF you already made, use [Organize PDF Pages](/organize-pages/). For more on ordering, see the guide on [converting multiple JPGs to one PDF](/guides/how-to-convert-multiple-jpg-to-one-pdf/).
