Free ZIP, RAR & 7Z Tools Online

Filevale's archive tools open ZIP, RAR (RAR 4 and RAR 5), 7Z, TAR, GZ and XZ files in your browser, show the folders inside and let you extract single files or everything, with no WinRAR or 7-Zip to install. You can also create ZIP archives, optionally locked with an AES-256 password, and TAR.GZ files. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

Archives are opened by libarchive compiled to WebAssembly, and ZIPs are written with zip.js, both running in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

  1. Choose a tool and add files

Pick a tool below, then drop files on the page or choose them from your device.

  2. Your browser does the work

Everything runs locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded and nothing waits in a queue.

  3. Preview and download

Check the result, change options and run again. Sign in with a free account to download a file or a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open a RAR file without WinRAR?

Open Extract RAR, drop the .rar file, browse its folders and tick the files you want, then download them one by one or as a ZIP. It reads RAR 4 and RAR 5 archives in any modern browser.

Can I open password-protected archives?

Password-protected ZIP files (AES-256 and the older ZipCrypto) open after you type the password. Encrypted RAR and 7Z archives and split (multi-part) archives are not supported yet.

Can I create a RAR or 7Z file?

No. You can create ZIP archives, optionally with an AES-256 password, and TAR.GZ archives. RAR is a proprietary format that can't be created without WinRAR's license, and 7Z creation isn't available yet.

Can I open an archive inside an archive?

Yes. A ZIP, RAR, 7Z or TAR inside another archive opens inline in the file tree. Extracted files get a Convert… button that hands them to the matching Filevale tool.
